Even though I'm currently out of work, I've still been able to keep track of what day of the week it is. Apparently, in this regard, I'm one up on some of the employed.
At 10 a.m. yesterday (Saturday) I went to get a haircut. The woman sits me down in the chair. "So," she says, then pauses as if she's about to say something profound. Then she adds, "You have the day off today?"

I would have been awfully tempted to tell her no but I figured I'd leave work to be here anyways.
ReplyDeleteWow, that lady must have been having a harrowing day if she managed to forget what day of the week it was.
ReplyDeleteOn the flip side, however, when I worked customer service in a call center there were routinely people furious at me that my company not only had weekends off, but we weren't open 24 hours a day to be available to assist them at every possible moment. I had to bite back telling them the weekend was the only thing keeping me from getting a gun and coming to find some of the crankier customers, since I had all their addresses...
Oh, and hi Phil. It's Heather. :D
